activity is enjoying a fertile and intense effervescence in the area of Castellón. And that has been particularly so in recent decades, with scores of pop, rock or electronic bands emerging and giving rise to a landscape populated with musical proposals whose high interest and quality led to music experts labeling the phenomenon as the Castelló Sound. That is the reason why the EACC decided to devote the fifth edition of Contemporàni@ to engage in a revision of Castelló’s hectic music scene over the latest thirty years in a project which witnessed the transformation of the centre into a concert hall, radio station, classroom for courses and workshops, etc.
