The second edition of the New York Underground Film Series pays tribute to the collaborative and transgressive NO WAVE CINEMA movement, characterised by its ‘Do it Yourself’ philosophy. The series is curated by Rafa Cervera. Following the screening of the film, there will be a discussion moderated by the multidisciplinary artist Carlos Bonet. Time: 20:00h. Edo Bertoglio revisits memories and accounts of his time in New York in the 1970s, when he was part of the city’s underground scene, which he captured in Downtown 81. He is joined on this journey by Walter Steding, whose albums were produced by Chris Stein (Blondie) and who designed the film’s poster. John and Evan Lurie and Franco Piersanti composed the soundtrack.
